The formula of project management


The two disciplines, development of product & project management, gathered at the hip. How a business is structured in function will depend on the movement of new ideas, innovation, market research and the management of the development process. Some companies will be just throw their project for wolves managers and let them fend for themselves. This is how I was introduced to project management. It is this experience of lift wolves which led me to design a system that worked for all those involved in the development process.

There is an appropriate methodology in the development of any new product in the industry, and these stages of development of project management products and do not change. However, if these steps are not respected the results can be disastrous. A project gets off the coast on the bad start is doomed to failure from the beginning. When the product or project does not invest in "Front End Planning" the project will not work smoothly. Any product or any project which has not been completely brought off is doomed to mediocrity, with a less favourable profit margin.

When we talk about front end planning I spoke the following:
The market is the subject of research and Sales Department knows or their customers and target clients have a need and desire of the product
The characteristics of the product were determined and confirmed that customers want them.
A complete set of preliminary specifications include all aspects of the product; packaging and the the owner manual for plastics, printed circuit boards, of the outgoing QC tests, Mil Spec accepted sampling; written acceptable quality level.
This information will be given for future industrial designers with a killer ID, (industrial design).

"Front End planning" is the most important part of any project because the people involved have something in writing to start from. Your suppliers have proposed specifications that they will be either conforms to the or return and provide a replacement or your seller may return and provide value engineering specifications. This is how true dialogue begins.

It is this "Front End Planning" combined with innovative design that will make your product a home run. Give the design team preliminary specifications, entry of your customers, that your vision of the product and the final product will be a product in the production; sold thru; were the orders of repeats; and runs for years. The final confirmation of your product being a hit is when he is struck - off the coast by the competition.
